This restaurant has a huge and very loyal following so they must be doing something right but I've been there twice, both times with a group of <10 and the service and food were appalling. Wouldn't go back.

Default Cafe Latte is delicious

I love this restaurant... over the last 5 years my family and friends have been there once every 1 to 2 months and everytime we invite someone new it becomes their favourite too.

Ciro the owner/chef is a suitably grumpy character who pours on the charm when he wants and produces consistantly excellent food.

The Cafe Latte Special is a huge seafood spagetti and is just fantasitc.

They used to serve a massive pork ribs meal that would satisfy an All Black back but I didn't notice it on the specials board the other day... hopefully it will be back.

I can't rave enough about this restaurant.

I guess we haven't been worth his effort then I'd rather walk down the road to point 5 nine

Default Its great that we are all different- just as well

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - all experiences from the same place. Isn't it just as well that we are all different, so there is someone around that can enjoy each of the interesting personalities of the restaurants around town.

Default Dine here if you arn't hungry

We arrived at 7pm as part of a prebooked group.
Our food orders were taken after 45 minutes, and some items listed on the menu were 'unavailable'.
The entrees arrived around 8.30, and by 9.30 we just gave up. Paid our bill - they insisted on charging us for the main course that we never saw - and went away.
The chairs are also quite uncomfortable for a two and a half hour sit, and the noise level is uncomfortably high.
All in all, a very unpleasant experience, topped off by the need to go home and cook a meal afterwards.
Certainly we would never return, and I see from other reviews that we are not the first to suffer from lack of service at this establishment.
God knows how they survive - from charging for meals that they don't supply I guess.

Cafe Latte is definitely not a place to go if you are in a hurry. It does take a while for your food to come, but for me it was well worth the wait. Also it can be a very tight squeeze, but again it was more than worth it. Anyway if it were any bigger you would have to squeeze more people in. Perhaps Ciro should forewarn people. And by the way I've never seen that man grumpy once, he is always charming. I am a total addict I've been there every month since I discovered it, the food is always served hot, always tastes beautiful and I always enjoy my time there, in that crowded little space, with atmosphere, in the company of my good friends.

Not in a hurry is one thing.
Two and a half hours is quite another!

Default All in good time

May be it's my Polynesian background and my innate sense of "island" time, that allows me to cope with the wait. I spend the rest of my week rushing around like a mad lunnatic, it's nice to be somewhere that goes slowly, all in good time. Perhaps Auckland isn't the best place for Ciro's restaurant, may be he should move to a small Pacific Island somewhere. All the customers who go there expecting their food then and there always ruin it for me. You MUST dedicate the entire evening to this dining experience. Most of all if patience is not a virtue you hold, go to Macdonald's or something, you don't even have to hop out of your car.
