My partner and I went in there at about quarter to 1, sat down and looked at the menu. After 10 minutes, it became apparent that we had to go to the bar to order, so I did so. My order was a Steak Sandwich, and my partner's was 'Kiwi Fish and Chips - Beer battered terakihi with golden fries'. We saw that the restaurant had a smoking section, so moved over to there (this was back before the smoking ban had set in). I let the barman know we had moved, so as to not lose our meals. "Sweet as" I was told. We saw a plate of fish and chips, along with one with a steak sandwich, be served to a couple of people (who had come in at the same time as us) and another meal get served...and heard a staff member say "We don't have any fish left!!" to another. So we waited. I said that if it didn't arrive soon, we would leave. The food arrived. The server person asked if there was anything else we needed. 'Cutlery? Salt? Napkins?' "Oh, ok...I'll just get that for you." At this point, my partner examined his plate. It was a pile of limp-looking fries with what looked like a pre-frozen, CRUMBED piece of fish. I tried a fry. It was cold. As were all of the other fries and my steak (sorry, beaten to death schnitzel which was supposed to be SIRLOIN) sandwich...oddly though, the fish was warmish. We took them back in disgust and pointed out that they were cold, and that we had waited over half an hour for our meals. Excuses were given: 'In case you didn't know, many restaurants have a 20 minute wait time' and 'When we have to make meals for lots of people, there can be a delay.' There were actually only 4 other people who ordered ahead of us. No excuse was given for the cold food. An apology was, but no explanation as to why we had received something entirely different to what we had ordered. So, my theory is that they gave our food to the wrong people, they tried some of the fish before the error was noticed, so they put the plates aside, chipped an old frozen crumbed slice from the back of the freezer and cooked it while the rest of the order got cold. Certainly not a place I would ever frequent again. We ditched the meals and got our money back, however I wasn't impressed with the way the Manager on duty handled our complaint so won't ever return. <!-- / message --> |

Hi, As an australian, and a visitor to New Zealand i was eager to try out the numerous restaurants available and what they had to offer. My wife and i where shopping in Snt Lukes shopping centre and wanted to eat something not to over priced, but not another fast food junk meal. What caught our eye was a well layed out restaurant, right beside the cinema and a huge bird standing out the front. We entered and was greeted with a lovely smile, and a relaxed eating atmosphere. We did have to order at the bar, but no complaints there. What really stood out for us what the excellent selection of meals and also i am told that its constanly changing. The meals where well priced most between $13 and $25. I settle for the Barbeque Chicken Wrap served with fries and a side salad. The only complaint was the waiting time which for us was about 20 minutes. But when your hungry seems like a hour. Besides that the service was great and the food tasted like a million dollars. I would recommend this restaurant, and would certainly re visit again on our next trip. |

We had an awful experience last night. We ordered a few coffees and cakes which arrived very late. Couple of our coffees were cold and when we tried to return it in exchange for new ones we were refused rudely, even some racist comments were made which was not necessary! never going back there!~ |
