[Fat Little Hobbits]

I remain unbiased in this review although I do admit that my son Blair married his sweetheart Jenny here.

This is a great location to hold your function and I have to say that Bridgette and Matt have got "it" right. Not "posh" but rustic, comfortable and relaxing that leaves you with a feel-good buzz. We received numerous positive comments from family and friends regarding River Mill.

The fickle Auckland summer weather ensured that the wedding had to be held indoors. No problems and the 60+ guests were able to fit into the main building with ease.

Take our advice, if you are looking for a location that is fantastic in the sun but with a wet weather alternative then go and have a look. you will not be disappointed.

The food was outstanding. Varied and plentiful and included my favourite Caesar Salad (without any prompting on my part).
The cheese board was available throughout the night.

The staff were efficient and friendly and a special mention must also be made to Mike, the "resident" DJ. He played the right choice of music to suit our guests and the dance floor was seldom empty.

Best way to fine River Mill?
Take SH.16 to Waimauku, turn right onto Waikoukou Valley Road and follow it through to Old North Road. You will find it to right of the intersection.

We held a two day conference at River Mill - about 40 people - and found the facilities and staff to be excellent.

The food was amazing too.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
