Golden Sands offers consistently good value. Service is efficient and pleasant and meals are reasonably priced. The fritters, in particular, are unique and well worth trying.

Love those corn fritters too, reaaaally nice and the chai latte is addictive. Good prices and the service is fantastic. Become a regular that they'll learn your name.

We had another good experience here the other day, they even asked if the fluffy was for a boy or girl! And bought us a hot towelette to clean Missy up. Now that is service!

Had an absolutely dreadful meal and would highly recommend NOT to go to this cafe.

I ordered a Caesar Salad with Salmon, but had to send it back TWICE before I received anything that remotely resembled a Caesar.

The first attempt was a plain salad with ham. I sent I back reconfirming what I had ordered. The second attempt was the exact same (plain) salad but with the ham taken off and the salmon dumped on top in its place (the salad was not even tossed!). And it was served with a French vinaigrette!!!!

I sent it back a second time again explaining that I had ordered a Caesar Salad. It finally came back out “semi” correct, but again not tossed and so was very flat and layered. The tomatoes were old, and tasted mushy. All in all it did not taste good and I regret even eating it!

By this time my husband had already finished his meal. He had ordered a Cheeseburger with fries. The Cheeseburger was ordinary to say the least, and the fries were over cooked and mushy.

I was really surprised considering the place was very busy that no one had yet cottoned on to the fact that the food was terrible!

Default Golden Sands is a Waste of Money

My Daughter and I went to this Cafe for Lunch after we had been at the Market. DONT EVER GO AND WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. We ordered chips for myself and my daughter ordered a Hamburger with fries ( additional cost for the fries )and the price for the fries with the burger was cheaper than the plate of fries I had ordered. We waited and waited and waited for 45 minutes. It was only a hamburger and fries for goodness sake.
When it arrived - OMG !! there were about 8 fries on my daughters plate, the hamburger had one piece of tomato, patty, sauce & a little bit of lettuce. This hamburger had cost me $7.50. My plate of chips was just a small noodle bowl size with 12 chips in it (I counted them.) This had cost me $4.00 or $4.50. With drinks this meal had cost $22.00. We have never been so dissappointed in all the time we have dined out.
What I dont understand is that people were coming in, but we watched and they were waiting forever too.

Hopefully someone else opens up a good quality cafe in Browns Bay.
