I have eaten reguarly at the GPO over the last two years, have reccommended it to many of my friends and taken many members of my family when they visit from England. Previously, everyone has requested that we go back but after last night I will not be going there again and will be suggesting to my friends to do the same. It has never been a place where they get everything right but the service and attitude of the staff and the standard of food that finally comes is usually excellent, hence the wish to return. Unfortunately, last night we experienced bad food in a burnt beef steak that was ordered as well done but came out as burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. When it was returned to the kitchen, the chef just put it back on the grill and then sent it back out, obviously more burnt on the outside and medium cooked in the middle. This was returned as the person who had ordered the meal had subsequently been put off eating anything. If this was the only problem, I would return but the reason that I now will not return to the GPO is due to the bad attitude of the girl who had put herself in charge for the night. She would not accept that the meal was of poor standard and actually acccused that the steak had been half eaten before returning and was charcoaled not burnt and would not take the whole cost of the meal off the bill. Her tone and whole attitude to the situation was negative and accusing. We left the restaurant and our loyalty card behind. |
