Food was really tasty and plenty of it, owners joined us for a chat, and the live music and interaction made for a memorable occasion. Would recommend.

I can't imagine how davek could have had a nice experience at Santorini.
We visited once and were served the worst food we ever ate!
I could see how you could not care after a few Ouzo, but if you want to go out for a meal, don't choose Santorini. With mains around $30, I would expect decent food.
There are plenty of mediocre restaurants in ChCh, each one better than this one! And in its price-range, there are many decent restaurants!

We were captured diners at Santorinis - a friends 30th birthday. I'd always wanted to go to as I adore Greek food and had plenty of it when I lived in Melbourne. I had Spanokopita that had soggy/uncooked dough and filling not much thicker than 1 match-stick. The Dolmades as a main were bland and served with traditional NZ vegetables. Yikes! I was horrified. I wish I had read reviews and eaten at home before going out. The atmosphere is fine, and fun at the start of the evening, but after a while really awful with ouzo imbibed dancers. Won't go again.

I must admit that I have only been there once. I've never been back as I felt that what I was served was something that I could have made quite easily for myself at home. If I go out for a meal, I expect to be served something that doesn't look like it was something I made at home. And I'm not the worlds best cook!
