I hate giving bad reviews, really I do - but my experience was hideous.
Cube was chosen for a work get together - the boss likes it a lot when it's just him and his wife.
However - they accepted our booking for 30 and it was the worst one yet! (before this was akdeniz takapuna which wasn't inspiring either)
They definitely overbooked us, giving us about a foots space each on the bench seats. So for every 3 plates it was a squeeze to fit two people!
In the end 8 people went to the lovely thai place a few doors down for their meals as there was simply no room for them. The people near the bar spent their entire night being smacked in the back by customer and staff going past.

If the food had been consistantly good, then it might have saved the night. However, when the menu boards said rib eye with mush potato it wasn't a typo.
I kid you not when I say it tasted like yesterday's potato salad smooshed roughly with a fork. The gravy was too thin and lacking flavour.
However, my steak was beautiful, cooked almost as ordered and tender. The only other thing on the plate was a floret of broccoli that tasted so foul I couldn't get past the first bite.
My friend's souvlakis was the opposite. The flavour was great but the meat was tough and lamb was scarce.
My husband's lamb rack was different again, with reasonable flavour, not too tough, oddly seasoned and cooked perfectly as ordered! The rest of the food was equally uneven down the table. The food wasn't what I'd call well priced either.

Then there was the music. I understand that it was live music night, and they were great musicians, but it was so loud my ears were ringing. Repeated comment that it was too loud were noted, but ignored. My friend was across the narrow table and I couldn't hear her comments, let alone hold any semblance of a conversation. We resorted to a pencil and napkin for notes!
If people hadn't been leaving for overseas and we were obliged to stay we would have left long before our mediocre mains.

Obviously it was chosen because someone has had a good experience there and if anyone reading has had a good experience here, then please post to balance this review out - but I'm only telling the truth of my experience.
