Scotia Restaurant
Where to begin? I went to this establishment for a function with my wife's work. 20 or so of us. 3 dishes were chosen : "Skink" a revolting melange of undercooked seafood in an overly salted custard looking broth, it was truly an experience i could have done without. A scotch fillet which was served medium rare (for this Gordan Ramsey wannabe this meant burnt on the outside and raw in the middle), laying on a few sliced potatoes and some suspect looking "COLBY" like cheese. When pointed out to the waitress, the condition of the steak was less than satisfactory and that the customer (namely me) would like it cooked properly, she returned with the comment "the manager says thats how it is supposed to be". I said most politely that I disagreed, and sent it back once again, and it came back in the same condition with the message from Chef (Gordon) that he would NOT cook it any more. Seems the customer is NEVER right in this place, so would we like to order something else. Too pissed off to care I ordered the ambitiously named "Moroccan" vegetarian dish. This was about as Moroccan as I am. A pile of sweet potatoes wrapped in overcooked filo parcels and nothing in the way of seasoning or spices to identify it as anything but leftovers. Not Moroccan at all.
In conclusion Service 4/10, Food 1/10, management and the "chef" 0/10. Will never go back, and I recommend none of you ever darken its doors, it will ruin your day and you'll probably just annoy the owner. I could have stayed home and got a better meal. JUST AWFUL.
