Food is nice in the Reef, if you are not that picky. I always order the seafood chowder. It has chucky seafood pieces in the soup and it comes with a huge crusted bun, so it makes it a full meal for a gal. The mixed seafood platter is wonderful, best to share it with 2/3 friends tho, becoz is huge!! It has chili crab, prawns, mussels, calamari and salmon... very fulfiling. Around $25/pp.

Have to agree about the seafood platter. The crab and mussels are to die for and the size is enough to fill the biggest eater.

its a shame that The Reef is Dunedins only fish restaurant to me it does no justice to fish and is only a expensive Fish and Chip shop in a rather handy location.Its a shame in fact its a crying shame.

The Reef is one of the BEST value resturants in Dunedin there $10 lunch menu is a real bargain and should be considered the best value for money lunch in town.
No Fancy stuff here just quality seafood at a VERY reasonable price!

Reasonable food at reasonable prices, friendly and timely services, and great interior and location.

$10 lunches are very good value and appropriate for a work-lunch-do.
