Default Changes afoot on Country specific Google?

Noticed some interesting changes on Google .co .uk recently. Sites hosted in the UK or with co.uk TLDs would perform a lot higher on a "Pages from the UK" search than a "web" search in the past. And the "Web" search on Google.co.uk used to more or less mirror the standard Google.com searches.
Now noticing some UK hosted sites are appearing high for "web" search on Google.co.uk, but dropping five , six, seven pages on a "pages from UK" search, however. Google.com search is also now pretty different to a Google.co.uk search.
Does anyone using the co.uk or other Googles (.ca, .fr, .de .ie etc) notice similar or have a theory?
We were wondering if it was relecting the hosting location of incoming links to the site, or maybe non-UK tld.s are losing popularity in "UK only" search.

Default Interesting things happening?

I have been hearing some interesting things about .co.uk as well (webproworld). Like that the home page would be missing from a uk only search, yet the rest of the site would be available - google site command using google . co . uk.

I consider that there are some datacenter and algo changes around at the moment, and that it will just take some time to settle down.

The basic SEO formula is that a .com or any non country specific tld should be hosted in the country it wants to show up for in the country specific search - ie .com or .org, or .net hosted in the UK.

On the other hand, a country specific tld can be hosted anywhere, and still remain in that countries specific google search.

However, the point you are raising is an anonomy to the above. Therefore in my books its a "Google is bung" situation of datacenters and algo change/update. IMO, it will settle over time. Probably there will be a more UK focus to google. co. uk once it has settled down.

Default

I have noticed a big increase recently with my site and others with .co.uk's on google.co.uk and I have also noticed .com sites performing alot better on Google.com, I think there is alot of truth in what you are saying.
