Default Exceptional meal, service tops - staff worked well together

Hi,

Just would love to say our party of three dined at your restaurant on Saturday evening. We had a 6pm booking and were a little late. about 5 minutes.

The duty manager was ever so nice and pleasent and extremly helpful. Our waiteress, from memory was Ali. She was also very helpful.

The meal itself was exceptional. The food was exactly as ordered and was also hot (this last item is a big plus as far as I am concerned).

In all, the evening was thoughly enjoyed by us and you can rest assured, if this service keeps up, we will be back again. (I travelled from Auckland to visit friends and they were also very impressed).

Well done Cobb & Co... They all worked well as a team.

Regards

Angry

Hello

My husband and I were in your restaurant for dinner in Chartwell Hamilton on 23/12/05 and was appalled at what we saw.

Grace and another waitress came out of the kitchen with what appeared to be desserts for a customer. The waitress dropped the spoon on the floor and we saw Grace pick the spoon up from the floor and place on the bowl.

I instantly thought what on earth goes on in your kitchen if an incident like this can happen in public view.

I would like to know what you will be doing about this as I am not happy about this kind of service and certainly wont be recommending anyone to dine at your restaurant!

Regards
Bob and Anita

Default I am not the restaurant

Hi. While it can be good to publically air your grievances on this forum, I am not the restaurant. You need to contact the restaurant directly.

Jeeze last time I went here was approx 5 yrs ago, went with a friend and 2 kids, we complained about the dirty and I mean DIRTY highchairs....it was disgusting, they came and gave them a wipe....yeah great !! but the floor was an absolute pigsty as well...when we got our food, which we didn't want to eat....we really were too scared to eat it and wished we had said we were leaving but felt bad cause we had already ordered !!
Put it this way...we didn't eat much...
but it may have changed hands over the years.....and the cleanliness may have improved !!!

Default Reply from New Management

I have received the following from Cobb n Co. Sounds like this manager has his head screwed on. I am not removing the reviews at this time, but I look forward to seeing some great reviews

I refer to both responses and comment as follows:

"Grace" is no longer in employment with Cobb & Co. Chartwell

The other e-mail requesting "a response" would have been responded to immediately as is our normal business practise should that customer had the correct address. This matter has since been dealt with.

Thank-you

PS. We would welcome an up-to-date report at any future time

We ate at Cobb and Co Chartwell September 06, to celebrate a child's achievement. It was at the child's request, and we adults went along reluctantly with that request. We won't ever eat there again! The spare ribs seemed to be tough old bones with no meat, and the sauce was dull and appeared to be commercial barbeque sauce. The service was apalling.
All in all it is not a place I would recommend to any one.

Thumbs down Cobb & Co Chartwell...what a joke! September 2006

We also 'dined' there to celebrate a childs 11th birthday (at her request), and the whole experience was a real disappointment. We had 8 children in our party aged between 4 & 12. The 5 adults got their meals served first (? whats up with that?), whilst the hungry kids looked longingly at our plates...when their meals did come there were numerous mix ups and 1 poor child was forgotten altogether!!! Our waitress who was supposed to be 'looking after us' ignored our table for most of the evening. The meals were served on cold plates...and since when does a salad consist only of iceberg lettuce and thick slices of red onion and some supermarket-bought mayonnaise..and thats it!!! The children were all tired and grumpy by the time we got out of there..and it was only 8.00pm...may have to book McDonalds next time.
