Well where to start? Once seated it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We questioned the duty manager after being seated for 2 hrs if the mains were ever going to arrive. After another ten minutes they turned up. It was another 5 minutes before the very sad excuse for seasonal vegetables (some limp stir fried concoction??) arrived by this stage everyone had half devoured their mains out of share hunger. The waiter insisted on calling female members of the group "sweet" and his neck was embellished with hickeys on which he informed us he had received at a staff party. The waiter informed us of his displeasure that we had gone over his head to complain and that we should talk to him next time if he should be so lucky that we would ever set foot in Cullen’s again. There are only two toilets and there was often a queue for the women’s which for a restaurant of its size must be illegal.

The waiter leaned over the table to place and clear plates. Reading other reviews about this establishment on other sites this type of service seems to be the norm since it started. This is just another establishment that charges silver service prices and delivers greasy spoon service

one comment... cold, thank god i got proposed to on the morning after we went out for dinner... wouldnt have wanted to be proposed to in this restaurant when it was so cold in April & the staff didnt seem to understand that there was a draught that was making us cold not just the window we were seated next to.... got nothing but a sorry to start with, asked to be moved, next table was a little better, no sorry or anything when we paid, got an email to say they were putting in a fireplace... an email doesnt really do much to make up for a bad experience

I have actually had really good food here. I have only been in the afternoon though, and have been quite a few times. I thought the portions were perfect and we got our meals quickly after finishing our entree.

My only issue with this place. A friend and I were charged an extra $2. We were not told why and we both checked our receipts after paying by eftpos and wandered what this charge was for. They explained that it was a tip for the service. We weren't given the option of this, and they refunded us $2 each. I thought that was pretty cheeky!
