I have spent a lot of money at Hopin Stopin cafe (almost everyday being that I work across the road), the cafe is a real treasure to everyone in Taupiri including myself. I have found of late however that the level of customer service has decreased significantly. While they have the relaxed, down-to-earth approach to customers - lately it has just come across as rude and flustered. I really enjoy the sandwiches however without much of a range in their cabinet, I often go for the custom made ones (they have a sign saying they can do this) but today I was pushed into purchasing one from the cabinet and the second I am pretty sure they just removed the condiments I didn't ask for from a ready made sandwich and adding the requested items. Leaving the taste of the sandwich rather disappointing. I don't like feeling bullied as a customer hence sharing this experience, it has scared me off for now and I can only hope the staff see this and improve for other customers' sake. I will be making my own lunches for now, if cafes don't want to make custom made items, don't put up a sign saying otherwise.
