Now Indian is one of my favourite, and when I happened to take one of my 4 daughters Emily on a father daughter night out...

We were enthralled by the colours, dancing and romance of the movie Bride and Prejudice then found Tandoori Express on the main drag in Henderson. We had to do Indian after a movie like that. Still open at 7:30 on a Tuesday night suited us fine. But when we were told it would be 1/2 hr wait, I got second thoughts for a moment then decided to stay. Just one chef being the owner and the meals made per order meant that it took a little time. US Clients were waiting but what the heck it was meant to be a time to talk with Emily.

The inside is small and very plainly decorated. A bit different to the mass of colour we had experienced at the Bride and Prejudice movie. But it was Indian and it was open...

Emily had Butter Chicken ($10), and I had Lamb Nawabi ($10). What was meant to be a starter of Mini Vege Samosa's ($4) came at the same time as the mains but that was not too bad.

What struck me was the difference in the seasonings used for both the butter chicken and Nawabi. Very different and very tasty. Normally the butter chicken is ultra creamy with no specific flavour. I liked being able to appreciate the flavours.

The chicken was really melt in your mouth.

I had a talk to the chef at the end of the meal about the quality of the lamb used. It was rather tough and he mentioned that others had said the same. He said that he would be looking at another supplier/ better quality of meat so it will be interesting to see what it is like next time.

Quality of meat is something I come across a few times at Indian Restaurants. They get precubed meat from suppliers and get told "all the restaurants use it" - but quality is not always there. Gristle, toughness, ... Not like the absolute tenderness of the chicken.
