| Found this place in the Entertainment book and went there for a nice Sunday brunch which was ruined by rudeness. Wait staff was nice but she forgot to put the voucher discount through when I gave it to her with my credit card. She asked her boss for help and her boss was just plain rude yelling that you can't reverse the charge once it has gone through and I should have given the voucher earlier. When I said I did and her wait staff said that I did but it was her mistake she yelled at her wait staff repeating the message that you cannot reverse the charge. I said "that's fine just pay me the difference in cash". She then charged my credit card again with the discount so I ended up paying twice for the meal, one for full price, one with the discounted price. Then when I asked her what she was doing she repeated the message again that you cannot reverse the charge. She paid me back for the first charge using cash but deducted the credit charge. She said because they get charged for credit card. I don't see why I should pay for their mistake. And mind you they did it twice if they had just paid me the difference as I've asked for during the first mistake that would have been that. She never apologised for their mistake and I ended up paying for their mistake plus when I got home and calculated the discount she didn't even give me the correct amount of discount but was rounded down by a quarter of a dollar. My time and business is worth more than a few dollars, I cannot believe how rude she was with their mistake. The food wasn't great and it wasn't bad. Certainly wasn't fantastic to have to put up with this kind of attitude and service! Walk a few more paces and go to Basalt or try the other cafes around. |

Went to 3 French Hens for Mother's Day brunch. The cafe was only about half full so there should have been no problem with service. We still waited an hour for food after ordering and even then our meals didn't all arrive together. Of our party of four one meal arrived and, after about a five minute delay another meal arrived then after another five or so minutes the remaining two meals arrived. In the interim the party of three at a adjacent table had received two of their three meals. Finally upon our last meal arriving the wait staff apologised for the delay and said they had not expected it to be so busy. I commented that there were only six tables occupied (I had had ample time to count) but she just walked away. We had also asked for trim coffees which were anything but. One of our party needed gluten free food which, when finally recieved, was good however overall, I certainly wouldn't go back. |

I have been to 3 French Hens before, but only for a coffee. Today I went with a friend of mine - and it was very busy. I had a meal this time, and was very impressed with the service and the quality of food! There was a customer that made quite a scene about having to wait for her order - I really felt for the staff - it is logical that when you go to a cafe that is obviously having a busy spell, you do so knowing it may take a little longer to get your order, as the people in before you have already placed their orders. I would have requested at the time of ordering that it come out quickly if I needed to get to an appointment... Don't worry 3 French Hens - Theres just no pleasing some people...!!! Keep up the great work -I DO RECOMMEND YOUR CAFE! |
