Paper Moon, Mairangi Bay has great food, good coffee, good attmosphere, but the service is often lacking, we are freqently go there and only keep going back because of the food, coffee and attmosphere.
They often give wrong orders to wrong tables, say they are short staffed (when they look like they have enought) and the place is not that big. The staff just need to look around every now and then and they would notice people have sat down and havent been brought menus or would like to order coffees, rather than them going to hunt down staff to get served, and what every good restaurant/cafe looking to make more profit should do is ask when they pick up empty drinks etc to ask if people would like another one, not leave you to have to ask as they are walking off with your cup.
One other point is when asked at the end "How was everything" actually take an interest and think of it as a constructive way to fix things customers arent happy with as if your customers don't tell you you will think everything is good, customers are trying to help your business when they mention things they werent happy with, so you can improve them to make it a better experience for all paying and hopefully retuning patrons.
But the food and coffee is definatley worth going back.
