I have deleted the not so positive reviews of the previous resident restaurant, and given the restaurant a clean slate.

Lets see some rave reviews of this new restaurant.

Went to The Narrow Table last night after reading a good reveiw in the Cuisine magazine. After being seated it all went down hill. The service is one of the worst I have had. Long long waits between taking orders and receveing drinks had to go up to the front desk twice myself to order extra drinks for the table as no waiter came to service us. One table in front of us left because no service was given maybe we should have done the same. On the plus side the food was really good. Take my hat off to the Chef/kitchen staff it was a real shame that the waiting staff let you down.

What a BIG Shame you had a rough time with the staff nzcolt.

The narrow table has our two thumbs up, well four thumbs actually. We usually ask to be seated near the kitchen though, and the staff are attentive.

The food is amazing. I'm now a dairy-free girl, but It's the one place I take the pain the next day for the food. So Good.

Our experience with the staff is really good, and they know their stuff when it comes to the wine list too.

Been a couple of times, agree that the wait staff need to pick up their game to match the great food. Catch the chef's eye and the service improves.

Same here. Went in for a late dinner one night and the food was awesome. Much better I thought than places like The Engine Room. Only thing was the wait times and the waiting staff. They made up for it by giving us a free desert but shouldn't get to that stage. If you make your patrons wait lengthy amounts of time before getting served or even having an order taken then you should really explain to them why instead of leaving them sitting there getting aggravated. All good in the end though.

Our experience at the Narrow Table restaurant two days ago was superb. We were greeted by Edith Piaff and we knew the vibes were right.Then a lovely Hawkes bay Chardonnay accompanied our conversation until a shared plate of Tiger prawns in a delightful sauce absorbed our attention.The presenation of our main dishes of Hapuka and Duck`s leg was as delightful as the taste extraordinary. Creme brulee and strawberry zabione completed our meal.
Our evening was fabulous. The service was courteous and thoughtful. We are long distance sailors and this was the best restaurant exprience since leaving Chicago eighteen years ago
