Been here numerous times for lunch n judging by how packed this lil place gets it's a winner. Decor is quaint n simple on a par with hometown "Haaka" stores but cleaner. Atmosphere can be chaotic n noisy but adds to the charm of this place. Sat n Sunday the place opens at 11.30am but come at 11.15 to guarantee parking on the side street 20mtrs away and a seat n the place! Watch out for them sneaky grandmas n mother n laws who push past you to get that freetable! In the summertime sit outside, with your sunnies chill n stare back at the envious rubber neckers watching you eat while they're waiting for the lights to change!
The staff r friendly and it seems like its a family run business the way everyone seems to know what part they play in the operation! I recommend the Chicken Nasi Lemak (with coconut flavoured blue rice is awesome n this dish), Ling Collar Noodle Soup, Chicken Curry Laksa or the KK Specials! Food Presentation is on a par with 5 star hotel food (someone there is definitely hotel trained) but with the Budget hotel price!
I don't want to give this place too much praise because it is difficult enough getting a lunch table on Thurs-Sunday!
Patrons are a mix of ex pat Malaysians, Singaporeans, Chinese, Indians, Kiwis n me.
This should have won a food award n Metro because these guys are well priced, good food n consistent! I should buy shares n this place!
