Went to Mamma Mia's on a recommendation. Not a verbal one, but a visual one.

While walking through Mission Bay Park I notice a couple of MM Pizza boxes in pretty much every bin I walked past so thought I'd better find out why so many of these are being eaten.

Easy enough it was the price and the taste, very nice pizza's good price, nice people and to walk across the road, sit on the fountain and enjoy a cheesy pizza. mmmm nothing better.

I enjoyed eating here the pasta was great. The only disappointment I had was the people outside hogging the patio heater. It was a bit chilly so next time might go in the warmer weather. It was great though and real yummy.

Goodness me! Mamma Mias still providing wonderful Pizzas to Aucklanders! It was great when I lived there in the 1980's and I know the restaurant had been part of the landscape for years before then. My boyfriend and I would grab a pizza on the way home from a movie, sit on the beach wall and savour the taste mingled with sea air. Maybe it was because we were there just before closing, but our toppings were gigantic. Greetings were always cheerful and we were charmed by the staff's friendliness and generosity. Congratulations for still going strong.

Haven't been there in years. Expecting to be in Auckland sometime in May for a sons sports tournament. Now i know it's still there, i'll have to make an effort to get some pizza pie.

For what should be a relaxed and enjoyable evening at a restaurant this place turned it into a stressful an unpleasant evening for myself and my friends.
It started of ok, we arrived and said we had a booking and were seated quite quickly and then some other friends joined us. But then it started to go downhill as soon as we ordered the drinks. The guy who was serving our table wasnt at all friendly from the start. We said we would like some NZ white wine and he told us we couldn't and we could only have Italian wine so we chose an italian and he went off and cam back with an Italian wine (which we later found out wasn't what we ordered but an overpriced mediocre "Italian Wine" made in Clevedon) and one friend got a lemonade which she didnt order. We then proceeded to order our mains which came fairly promptly apart from the pizza which arrived 20mins after everything else. So once that eventually arrived we chatted and ate and was there for a while, we then decided it was time to go. We went to pay and our non-friendly waiter was on the till, we got the bill and noticed the wine was a lot more than we remembered so we proceeded to tell him this and that the pizza was late. This is the point where he became rude and obnoxious. Telling us the pizza arrived the same time as everything else. We drank the wine so we have to pay for it and we ate the pizza so we have to pay for it. He had the attitude "People have been coming here for years I can do what I like". So 5 mins of arguing later he took $7 off the bill. This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen.
If you want nice food and good service I suggest going to Santa Lucia or Tony's.
