Had lunch here today. Nice fitout in most areas, loved the upstairs lounge bar although the upstairs dining room doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind decor-wise whether it wants to be old style or current and doesn't gel with the style of the other areas of the establishment. Service was fine if somewhat inexperienced. Food was ok but nothing to get excited about, tending more towards pub fare than upmarket dining as the fitout might suggest. A solid place to go for lunch or dinner without expecting anything special. They only do brunch Saturdays and Sundays, regardless of public holidays.

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at The Mount restaurant a few weeks back.

To begin with we were the only two diners in the restaurant upstairs so it was quite lovely as we had all the waiters attention.

Once the dining rooms filled up (unfortunately with semi drunken loud people) we didn't receive as much attention as previously.

The food was excellent .. I had the mushroom risotto which was a HUGE serving and absolutely delicious. I filled myself up and still had a bowlful at the end. My partner had the chicken burger which he said was fabulous.

I thought the cost was reasonable too.

The only thing that let this restaurant down was the noise filtering through from the upstairs bar and the fact that once we got out bill nobody seemed to want to know us. We could have just walked out of the bar without paying and nobody would have noticed. I ended up going to the bar and asking if I could pay so we could leave.
