[Fat Little Hobbits]

Walked in and Dino (Dean Martin) was singing.
Now that is a plus straight away. Leah and I were all smiles.

Table for five, quick, efficient and charming service.
Now what is it with the standard of service in this country? The Euros and South Americans really know how to lay it on with such style while others fall woefully short. We DO appreciate great service.

A small point that I found interesting was that all the tables had a couple of wines already on them. Our Host (the tall charming one) introduced us to these. Leah turned down the Merlot............... But is was lunch time! Had it been dinner, well!!!

My girls shared a pizza (I could see why when it arrived), Leah's mum had the Cappriccou, Leah the smoked chicken Penne and I had the bacon Penne.

The food was fantastic, although I think the Penne was better at the Adriatico. This in no way writes down the one I had here, as it was certainly excellent, this it is just my observation.

And following such a great meal we finished up being serenaded by "Pasta, Pizza and Opera". Great!

And I have found out through an aquantaince that "Mine Host" (Tony's words)
No - the tall dashing IIalian (Leah's words) is not actually Italian. But he does pass for one and is fluent in the lingo.
Any guesses?

[b]Archie and his staff Ana,Lea,Fabiana,Ouran from somewhere,Katarina from the Czech Republic,PK Archie's Wife and others and past one's do 100 percent fantastic and the food and drink is fantastic I can personally highly reccomend it and Safran,Bistro Theatre since knowing Archie most of all with a dissability myself as a good friend/regular customer of three or four years himself personally plus sometimes PK,his sister,his staff too its very safe inside Archie is fantastic with his comedy,a living legend in Newmarket and elsewhere plus with his personality I fully personally support Safran,Archies,Bistro Theatre so do my family and friends from church and around,yes its a favourite place of John Campbell,Carol Hirschfield,Petra Bagust,Rodney Hyde too.

We made a reservation for 10 people at 7.45.... we turnded up at 7.30 to a compleatly full restaurant and a manager that kept telling us that they would only be a moment clearing a table... and an HOUR later we were seated! And that was only the start of it! Not only did we have to wait 2 HOURS for our food to arrive but we had to watch tables that arrived a substantial amount of time after us and takeaway orders leave before we had even had our food. This wouldn't have been to bad if we had a waitress asking if we would like another drink but no... the most a waitress done for us was full our beer glasses up with water and not even offer a complimentry beer after doing so. We also bought a cake in with us as it was a 21st birthday but by the time our food arrived at 10.30, the last thing anyone felt like doing was hanging around any longer as it was a tuesday night. Over all, the food was mediocre and the service was a disgrace and at the end of the night did the birthday girl (who was in tears by this stage might I add) get an apology? No she got offered the entree's for free...Wow. What a shame for a restaurent with such a good name and I know 10 people who definitely won't be returning.
