In my opinion Deejai is one of the most welcoming, colourful Thai restaurants I have been to. Tucked down a little hidden passage you will find the small, cosy and very yummy restaurant. The staff is always very friendly, service is excellent and you definitely get value for money!

As usual Dee jai's is just the best Thai Restaurant. My family and I try to go there as often as we can, the food is just ALWAYS very good. The family that runs it is very friendly!

Have been to quite a number of Thai restaurants in Auckland as Thai food are probably my favourite! However, did not enjoy the food in Dee Jai at all 2 days ago when we went for dinner.

The vegetables in the duck curry was under cooked and the meat also lacked flavour. We ordered 'medium hot', but the dish was tooooo mild for our liking. The beef in the other dish was slightly over cooked. To top it off, the jasmine rice wasn't even cooked right!! it was too sticky and taste soggy!! (maybe it was left over from lunch?)

When the waitress was informed, she said and did nothing!!
Sorry to say it, but this if the worst Thai restaurant I have been to, don't think I would go there again...

I've eaten at Dee Jai for the past few years now and have always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. I recommended Dee Jai to my work/boss for a function we had on but when we arrived at Dee Jai they told us they were closed and they would not open the restaurant for us because the "boss" had gone home due to us being TEN MINUTES late!(We waited outside the entrance and knocked on the door for 15 minutes before they even opened the door even tho we could see the workers). With no notification of the booking being cancelled and colleagues and visitors heading to Dee Jai from all over Auckland and even from Wellington this was not good enough. We tried to talk with the staff but they didn't want to hear it. We thn decided to take our business elsewhere so started to desperately search the streets for another restaurant. Dee Jai staff walked out in front of us and just started to laugh in our faces(of course this will be denied ).

Sadly my friends, family and I will NOT be recommending Dee Jai to anyone else nor will we eat there ever again.
Luckily there are ALOT of restaurants in New Market that are MORE thn happy to take our money.
