We have spent may years dining at the last post. It was always know for it's great menu and large meals. Last week new owners took over and we thought we would try it out. We wish we had not! My husband ordered and large roast and another diner ordered the lunchtime smaller roast. Apart from the uncooked beans, which we can over look; the meat difference between large and lunchtime was barely one slice. The plate was large with a small meal on the inside of it. The meal was made up of. Three pieces of thinly sliced beef, three very small roast potatoes, 2 small flowers of brocolli and uncooked beans, with gravey thrown over the top. The meal was about the size of a saucer.
My steak had been thinly sliced, was as tough as an old boot, the salad came without a dressing and one was not offered. We flagged dessert and did not stay for anymore drinks. We all left the last post hungry and spent $140.00 for 5 of us. This consisted of one round of drinks, being three beers, one glass of wine and a diet coke, one serving of garlic bread and 5 mains.
I will not be going back nor will be passing on any good words at this stage.
