[Fat Little Hobbits]

A dozen in our party, the first time for us Hobbits at a Teppanyaki Restaurant.
Certainly entertaining, especially when the cook shot some of the food over one our number!
Unsure of the level of service as we are unaccustomed to Japanese culture, it seemed okay, the staff were certainly polite and the restaurant was clean and tidy.
The food tasted OK, smallish servings topped up at the end by rice.
Cannot comment on the cost as I (Tony) did not keep the receipt but heard no complaints from the others.

Couple of points
Some of our more experienced (worldly?) members commented that the food seemed to be rationed compared to Fuji.
Those that had the chicken later complained of a slight tummy upset.
(I didn't have the chicken - seldom do, as I BBQ mine slowly for 40 minutes - world famous me!!)

A plus in busy Ponsonby, parking is available at the rear, off Maidstone St and they do take-aways as well.

We rather enjoyed the experience and we all had a great time, especially the first-timers.

Note that we haven't voted on this site and will not do so until we have sampled another Teppanyaki, The Fuji at the other end of Ponsonby Rd being recommended to us.
We have read those reviews and look forward to comparing the two in the future.

Postscript: Leah has also reminded me that when we were leaving, our hosts escorted us to our vehicles (we WERE the last to leave) amd made sure that we had enough sober drivers for the trip home. Now that is a first for us.
