Personally it's not a restaurant. Maximum capacity would be approx ten size 14 people and 20 size 10 people. Good music. No RTD's (it is because Ponsonby are targeting a certain type of customer?). Even if you were one of the 'lucky' people to actually physically get in to this bar, there will be other people in there that NOT move if you want to go to the toilet. The bar is the same size as my sitting room. just telling the truth.

Lime is a small bar, granted. However, although it gets busy on Friday and Saturday, it is rare if it is SO busy you're not conformable or able to move freely enough. On the occasions I have been there I have had nothing but a good time. Music wise, they run by the philosophy that if it's written after 1990 they wont play it.

Josh, Selina and the crew are fantastic at what they do, always making me feel welcome. Not only that, the selection of drinks choices are always vast: no RTD's, thankfully. fantastic cocktails (try a manhattan) a good selection of wines and beers (mostly DB but rumours have it they may get in Asahi Dry), and a great selection of champagnes.

Yes, it is not a restaurant so the food choice is limited but it is right next door to one and I'm pretty sure a quiet bite to eat wouldn't be too much to ask to have while sitting outside or even at the bar on a quiet night.

I have signed up especially to this forum to record my concern about this particular bar/restaurant.

I was here last weekend with a group of friends sitting around a bar leaner table with stools, we were one short so I went in search of one and found a couple stacked outside. I asked the bouncer if I could bring one in and he said no. I asked him why this was and he said 'look lady, if you have a problem with that, write a letter to the council' to which I was pretty taken aback. Again, I asked as to why this was as I simply couldn't see reason and he said 'right, you're not coming back in here' which was absolutely unbelievable; I hadn't stumbled, sworn, raised my voice, or been arrogant, it seemed more of a personal affront. By that point, I had no interest in being there so I asked if I could go back inside to get my handbag and let the people I was with know, he replied no, and then after some reasoning handed my bag to me. As we were leaving, I said to the bouncer 'this place is a joke' and he replied 'weight watchers lady, heard of it? Well use it' I was mortified! I couldn't believe he actually said it. Interestingly, I am a relatively slim person so I can only imagine he was taking the deepest dig he could at something which effects most women - insecurity about weight. I will NEVER come back here, I'm all for second chances but this was outstandingly poor.
Lovely venue, but need to remove that bouncer.
