I am a keen cafe goer and love trying new places. Today I tried Lulu's Cafe on Ponsonby Rd and was incredibly disappointed... Apart from the coffee being thoroughly average, I have never received such off hand (and downright rude) service. Most of all I am shocked that this treatment came from the owner of the cafe.

When I had paid and finished my coffee I mustered as much politeness as I could to let him know that I was unhappy with the customer service... Not only did I receive no apology what-so-ever, but he accused me of being offensive and asked what kind of upbringing I had had. This is unacceptable in my book (especially considering I had been very polite and used manners throughout the ordering of our coffee) and I would recommend that anyone who doesn't want to leave a cafe with tears in their eyes should steer clear of Lulu's.

Hello, I think you have no idea what Lulu's are about.
In order to enjoy a good cafe, you must accept the coseyness of Lulu's.

I am KEENLY in love with Lulu's Cafe, i have been going there for about two to three years now, and they have never let me down. The service is no where near as rude as other restaurants. Trevor, the owner of the restaurant, is not rude. If you had the right attitude towards him, maybe you would have received the same treatment.

If you love cosey, little, corner cafe's, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lulu's as the cafe for you. if the service was not up to scratch for you, then i should accept that.

The food's quality at Lulu's is absolutely stunning, perfectly sized dishes with the best quality freshness and taste.

Order a dish of food that looks good to you next time, and maybe you will see the pure excellence of this cafe.

My husband and I have been going in since we first met and GEORGE the owner is a very nice guy.. Always asks how our family is and even remembers our orders.

I agree - I’m not sure you have your head screwed on properly! I am a regular at Lulu's and absolutely adore the food and the service. We are always greeted with a friendly smile, spoken to with the upmost respect and food is always 5 star and QUICK! No matter how many customers they have in store we always see our food within 10minutes of ordering. Its located in an ideal area and you dine in a small, intimate, quaint, warm and friendly environment. It’s this service and outstanding food that sends us back time and time again
