With vBulletin in the version 3.5 series, I don't need to make lots of changes to php files as I used to. I use the vBSEO plugin product to do the site changes for me, then I concentrate on the onpage SEO. Onpage SEO is most important, and is able to rocket sites very high on the search engines, especially when they are already ranking well for specific terms on Google (and when they are using vBSEO). The basic idea - it is very hard to rank for something unless you have those exact words at prominent places on your site. I follow through all the changes mentioned on my thread Search Engine Optimize vBulletin 3.5, and have special emphasis on search phrase selection specific to your forum. Your investment - vBSEO = $149 (either purchase via the link, or I can purchase and install on your behalf) - 7 hours of my time @ $USD70 = $USD490 (paypal to me) - additional hours @ $USD70 (adding content to forum, graphics, vBulletin plugins, other packages on your site) While the hack is detailed and discussed on the Search Engine Optimize vBulletin hack thread, many people are not familiar with the vBulletin templates or SEO and would rather get someone else to guide them through it. Yes, you may be able to do the hack, but do you know SEO well enough to get the wording right to enable you to get high. There are always four steps to SEO
