Hi,
We are launching a new site where some of the urls are fairly long - up to 200 characters.
They are "friendly" urls without querystrings but it is a large site with lots of sub folders so they have to be quite long.
Is there a limit? Will URLs of a certain length not get indexed?

Yes, on a number of my vBulletin clients, I limit the length of the url to 5 words, and then use the smart stop word functionality to take out the stop words when the url would be over 5 words.

On this forum, most url's are restaurant related and short, so I did not limit the length.

Note on Google how for long url's, it spreads the url over two lines. Then it can use ... to break up the url, and show the characters around the search phrase in the url.
