My girlfriend and I have been to Paper Moon Takapuna 5 or 6 times now, and every time it is excellent. The service is amazing, the pallet refresher sorbet is a nice touch. The meal sizes are quite large, and there are lots of choices, so even a fussy eater can find something they like.

They offer a nice selection of desserts also, which are always beautifully presented and very tasty (though you might not have room to sample them!)

To give an example of just how good the service is - we went there with a party of 4, ordered our meals, and two of our group swapped seats. The meals arrived, and were placed in front of the people that had ordered them! The waiter didn't ask, or check his book - he just remembered. Very cool.

The only gripe I have is that there is another Paper Moon in Mairangi Bay - which while sharing the same name, has a completely different menu and restaurant style. The Takapuna one feels pretty classy and upmarket, while the Mairangi Bay one is much more of a bar/cafe. The menu is very "something" and chips. So if you'd booked at the Mairangi Bay one expecting a nice meal, you might feel a bit jipped.
