Default Heavenly Gardens & Surreal Cafe

What was Heavenly Gardens & Surreal Cafe is now The Brigham Restaurant. And judging by the last review on this page, the quality of experience is now vastly improved. Check it out, then leave a review on the new Brigham Restaurant page.

First visit last Sunday. Nice surroundings, could do with a big 'clean up & dusting', but they need to provide some service!! Took over 1/2 an hour to get any service. Later one of our party had to go to the counter and was then told that they were out of stock of a few of the wines we had previously ordered. Another 1/2 hour for one of our party to get a 'replacement' alternative bottle. Others just gave up. ( One of our party had been there some time ago and on Sunday this lady told us that there was also 'No' service on her last visit over a year ago. Until they provide reasonable service and stock up on what one expects at a licensed place, we will not be returning.
Needless to say, we soon departed and found another place with good service. Our party will be going back to this little beaut place, next month.

Angry ...revisited.. Yeah right!!

I visited the Heavenly Gardens & Surreal Cafe again last week (as I was passing through).

It was a Sunday and there was a little sign on the steps saying 'Closed'. There were several people wondering around the place. I went to investigate. No sooner had I got out of my vehicle, when a lady shouted from the steps, "We're not open". I went closer to inquire the reasons as there is no mention of the place being 'closed' from the road outside. I was told that the place is 'in receivership'. The lady told me that the people there were 'cleaning up after a private function last night'. I asked for the contact of the owner and was refused.

What a great outfit ~ Yeah right!!!!

Thumbs up The Brigham (ex Heavenly Gardens & Surreal Cafe)

Wow!!!

What a transformation with NEW management and new name: THE BRIGHAM. The new owners, Joe & Raewyn have certainly done a great job in cleaning up the previously run down joint (see my previous reports). Even the cat looks healthier!

Some of our group visited there two weeks ago to 'check it out'. We can now give it a 100% 'thumbs up' approval. Talk about service, they made sure you were welcomed and they looked after you. The food was good and at a reasonable price. (I hear they have a special, 'Four Chocolate Lovers' which I have yet to try.)

My group, The Mainland Connection, used to socialise at Pleasant Valley Wines Cafe, but that has now closed. We will now be attending THE BRIGHAM on the first Sunday each month.

What a find! I'm glad I perservered!

See you there!
