I have always enjoyed going to Vega Riverside Restaurant on my sojourns to Wanganui. So it was with great disappointment that on Monday I found it had changed hands.
Now Vega, has been through many hands and the most recent couple and predecessor Jeff. really had a Great place.

The bricks were limewashed and muted, a great place to Dine.

I looked in an to my abject horror discovered that it is being painted the most vile old fashioned green.

On a rough old Blackboard sitting in the Window says in very scruffy writing, "Italian Restaurant opening soon"

Why do people with absolutely zero taste get these places, and trash them with stupid unworkable ideas. There is a lovely Italian Riverbank Restaurant just down the Road, Pasta is cheap as Chips, and outdated.

I also would not pay fine dining prices for a sloppy bowl of Fettucine.

So disappointing though it was, My hubby and I went over the bridge to The newly refurbished Red Lion Tavern, lovely meal, lovely taste, very classy, in direct contrast to the trashy, tawdry appearance of Vega.

Funnily enough I was told by another Diner at the Red Lion Inn, that the previous owner of that, had taken on the Vega. There were guffaws galore. Fraid I didn't get the Joke guess it was a private one.

Why do people, that have no idea how to create a fine dining atmosphere, bother involving themselves in these businesses, its crazy.
