Default Curryinahurry.co.nz

Curryinahurry promotes itself as the home delivery restaurant - we used them for the first time this evening and to say I am less than impressed is an understatement. Far from being restaurant quality, this meal was disgusting and the service was not any better.

Firstly they brought half the wrong order, and it felt like a major issue that I wanted it replaced (although they did in their defence apologise), so my and my partner and I had to eat separately. They offered no recompense for this, and the garlic bread was cold by the time my food arrived (thankfully so as my other half advises me it was disgusting, how can you get garlic naan SO wrong?!).

The food - is AWFUL. I could make better myself using a jar of curry sauce from the supermarket, infact I have tasted better pour-on sauces. I don't think it's that hard to make a curry, but if you're in a hurry DON'T call these people!

The fact that their website also states 45-60 minutes for delivery also makes it more economical for you to pop down to your local restaurant / takeaway who will serve you much better food for the same price (if not cheaper) and that will actually taste of curry instead of something very disgusting.

I don't know how long this business has been running for and if historically they served good food (?) but I find it hard to believe they will remain in business much longer with these standards. Never before in my life have I felt so strongly as to write a bad review on a website.

On the other side of things, my top recommendations so far are: Paraparaumu fish and chip shop, Swell Cafe (Waikanae), Shed 5 (for the special occasion), Cafe L'Affare (needless to say) there's also quite a nice Tandoori restaurant in Kilbirnie but the name escapes me!

Can anyone recommend a really good curry house / delivery service for when we have these southerlies?!!

Lesley
