Unhappy

Having been to the original Deluge we were expecting the same sort of fine dining experience - unfortunately we were very disappointed! To start we were told that a variety of items were unavailable - the waitress explained that this was because it was the end of the week ( perhaps their busiest time??! you would hope that the kitchen would be ready for the potential of a busy weekend?!). Unperturbed we ordered the breads with dips - should that read stale toasted bread with dips - one of which tasted like medicine(think it was supposed to be chilli), one with black blobs in (olive oil and balsamic vinegar?) and a nice hummus (Lizas??!). To follow we ordered the chicken dish - dry and salty with a packet style sauce, and a eye fillet steak - half of which was well done, half was med rare(??!!how??!!), completed with what seemed like instant mash and a blob of caramalised onions (onion jam??). We also ordered a side of chargrilled vege, which had to go back as they were inedible (had a funny plastic taste!). Thankfully we didn't have to pay for the side order as the kind waiters took it off our bill. The service was intermittent but the staff were friendly. Not a good dining experience but the Delegats wine was yummy!
